Standard Plaster
The classic finish. White or tinted, smooth when new, affordable.

Rough plaster ruins the swim. We resurface gunite pools with finishes that feel smooth and stay clean for years.
Plaster is a wear surface. It's porous and it sits in chemically treated water year-round. In Baton Rouge, where pools get used most of the year, plaster typically lasts 8 to 12 years before it starts showing wear.
You'll feel it before you see it. The bottom of the pool gets rough on bare feet. Stains start to set in. Etching and pitting show up around the steps and waterline. Once you're there, the surface needs to come off and a new one needs to go on.

Plaster mixed with quartz aggregate. Tougher, smoother, and holds color better than standard plaster.

Small natural pebbles set into the surface. Premium look, very durable, gives the pool a deeper natural appearance.
Which one is right depends on your budget, how long you plan to be in the house, and the look you want. We walk you through trade-offs honestly.
First we drain the pool. Then we chip off the old plaster down to the gunite. We inspect for structural issues, repair any cracks or hollow spots, and acid-wash the surface to prep it. Next we apply the new finish: troweled in by hand, smoothed, and cured. The pool gets refilled and the water chemistry is balanced for the first 28 days, which is critical to how the finish sets. Most resurfacing jobs take 5 to 10 working days from drain to refill, weather permitting.
